Fatma Yildirim

Dr Fatma Yıldırım, MD, Associate Prof She earned her M.D from the Hacettepe University, Ankara, Türkiye in 2007. During intership she studied in Leiden University Faculty of Medicine Deparment of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery for 2 months. She started Pulmonary Medicine recidency in Gazi Universiy, Ankara, Türkiye in 2007 and became Pulmonary Medicine specialist in 2012. She worked as observer and researcher at he Intensive Care Unit of Amsterdam Medical Center in 2010. She completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in Gazi University in 2016. From 2016 to 2022 she worked as a full-time intensivist in General Surgery Intensive Care Unit of Diskapi Yildirim Beyazit Research and Education Hospital. She has been Associate Profesor of Pulmonary Medicine and lecturer at the University of Health Sciences since January 2022. She has been working at Etlik City Hospital since 2023. She is the head of Pulmonary Intensive Care Unit. She currently is a member of the Turkish Respiratory Society and Society of Turkish Intensivists. She is the head of Critical Care Study Group of Turkish Respiratory Society. She is especially interested in acute respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, mechanical and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, high flow nasal oxygen treatment, brain death and organ donation. She has two daughters and two cats.
