Mohammad Faruq

Professor Mohammad Omar Faruq graduated from Chittagong Medical College, Bangladesh in 1972. He made career in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Internal medicine in USA. He has been Diplomate of American Board of Internal medicine and Emergency Medicine. He is an ex Fellow of Society of Critical Care Medicine of USA (FCCM). He is also a Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP) and American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). He has been the pioneer in establishing Post Graduate (MD) course in Critical Care Medicine and comprehensive workshops on CPR in Bangladesh. He is the founder President of Bangladesh Society of Critical Care Medicine and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Critical Care Journal. He has been the country investigator of different international Studies (MOSAICS, ACME, AISP, SABA, ABC, ABC-2, IMPROVE, MOSAICS II) undertaken by Asian Critical Care and Clinical Trial Group (ACCCTG). He has authored about one hundred publications in International and native journals. He has been actively involved as teaching faculty in workshops organized by Asia Ventilation Forum (AVF). Dr Faruq is currently Chief Consultant, Critical Care Medicine (CCM) and Emergency Medicine (EM) at United Hospital Ltd, Bangladesh. He is also Honorary Professor of CCM and EM at United Medical College, Bangladesh.
